This year seems to be a very rough year in the sports world. Losing so many icons in various levels of sports is always heartbreaking. The public handles these in very different ways. Some of the icons of sports, whether it be modern day, or from the past have been role models for many men and women from College Basketball, both men and women, to a major sport ie: Boxing, Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey, WWE.
It creates a very sad atmosphere. I would like to take a quick moment of silence for all of our icons. We will remember the late athletes whom have touched many lives throughout sports and will continue to do so as life goes on. I know there are plenty of athletes I have seen in my life that have touched family members or friends. those that are sports minded people and follow it like it is a religion can attest to that. While the days pass, we recently remember Pat Summit and Buddy Ryan whom have touched their sports in their own right. From basketball to football, it is definitely a touching subject to speak about these two amazing and iconic legends.
When you look for an idol or a role model, you look at the recent passing of some amazing athletes and coaches. Be mindful of who these legends may be, because when your children grow up, you can sit an explain to them what they meant to each sport and the type of people they were on and off the court, on and off the field, and how they were to their communities.
